M. Chad Ellis, President and founder of Quickrelay Networks, Inc. – I am proud to be a pioneer in my hometown with a technology that has grown into a much needed service for our growing community. It started out as a very small wireless network that served the greater Sevierville area businesses and over the last 5 years has grown into the area’s first and only Licensed WiMax provider for most of Sevier County including Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Kodak, Seymour, and Wears Valley. We are excited to finally bring an Internet service to the home that is as robust and reliable as our commercial service. Quickrelay’s solutions and services scale to enhance the productivity and performance of any sized organization from small businesses to large enterprises, including government, retail point-of-sale, healthcare and lodging industry. My goal is to provide the best support and reliable service to our customers and be flexible to each individual need.

Jonathan

Jonathan Bailey, Network Engineer – Moved to the East Tennessee area in ’97 and finished my last 2 years of high school. Later I went on to attend Walters State Community College and the University of Tennessee majoring in Computer Science with an emphasis in Networking. After that I went to work for AT&T, and then later on Verizon Wireless doing sales. I got back into the IT field in 2004 doing a 6 month contract job as a network administrator and have been doing contract and consulting jobs until I started here at Quickrelay. Quickrelay has been a great company to work for with high values towards it’s employees.

Tom and Sharon

Thomas Ranz, Consulting & Accounting - My technical career started while growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio where I went to college at the University of Cincinnati (U.C.), Ohio College of Applied Science (OCAS) and graduated in 1974 with an A.S. degree in Electronics Engineering Technology. Electronic repair was my specialty and I eventually became the shop manager at my employer. During this time I went back to U.C. to work towards my B.S. degree and started looking at hardware design work which led me to move to the East Tennessee area. My engineering career initially involved hardware design but eventually became full-time software development. As a side interest I earned an A.S. degree in Physical Therapy during this period. Due to moving from Cincinnati my B.S. degree was completed in 1992 through Excelsior College in Albany N.Y. which has an excellent distance learning program. My employers in East Tennessee included Philips/Magnavox, Computational Systems and Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). In 2000 I departed from my technical work when I opened a health food store in the Powell community of Knox County, TN. The store operated for over 3 years and spurred me to attain my Tradition Naturopath degree from Clayton College of Natural Health (CCNH) which was completed in 2005. With my natural health training and technical abilities I developed my websites for selling nutritional supplement products at http://NaturesChoiceTN.com/ which has become quite successful. During the years operating my retail business and websites I became fluent in accounting which I now also apply at Quickrelay. The mix of technical and natural health work gives my life balance and variety that makes both of them interesting. My personal interests include running, weight training, and hiking. Hiking of course is fantastic in the Smoky Mountains and is something I do often.

Sharon

Sharon Ranz, Accounting – After completing my formal education I started working in the hospitality industry at a local motel. The initial work was basic but over the years I proved my abilities to my managers and eventually became a manager myself. Tasks included payroll, scheduling, hiring and firing, and pretty much all aspects of running a large motel. After 33 years at one location I retired from the motel and now do part-time work in accounting for Quickrelay. My interests are reading, traveling, hiking and my two sons and granddaughter that I enjoy spending time with.
